About Us

Kings Christian Academy (KCA), an extension of Hills Academy, Inc., is a private, all male high school, located in Conyers, GA and hosts students in grades 10th-12th Grade. It has a student teacher ratio of 10 to 1.

Kings Christian Academy (KCA) challenges and inspire participants by providing an outstanding, non-denominational, Christ-centered environment that promotes excellence in spiritual, academic, artistic, physical, emotional and social growth.

This year our theme is SELF-DISCIPLINE. Self-discipline is one of the most important and useful skills we all should possess. This skill is essential in every area of life. It is essential to building self-control, inner strength and gaining control of ourselves and our reactions.

Our KINGS will understand that contrary to common belief, self-discipline does not mean being harsh with yourself, or living a limited, restrictive lifestyle. It means using common sense, making priorities, and thinking before acting. These skills will ensure future success in all areas of their lives.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT

PVT Jamal H. Rogers

Scholarship Fund

–––––

Jamal was born on January 31, 2003. On July 25, 2016, Jamal, his brother, Jaydon Rogers, and sister, Zahara Rogers, were adopted by Carol Wyre. Jamal accepted Christ at an early age, baptized (age 13) and was an active member of the 3D Church family.

Jamal attended Hills Academy School from August 2017 through May 2021. Jamal was the first student, as well as the first graduating senior of Hills Academy. At his High School gratudation, his awards included superior and achievement in excellence (English IV), King of the Month, Athletic Award, A/B Honor Award, and Pillar Award for Service. Jamal was one of the most esteemed and influential students at Hills Academy.

Inspired by president and CEO of Scribe Media, author Jevon ‘J.T.’ McCormick, Jamal wanted to acknowledge the ability to overcome obstacles that didn’t always point towards a successful future. Jamal’s experiences included his tenure in foster care, death of his biolgical father, issues of abandonment and a diagnosed learning disability in math. He ws able to successfully overcome those obstacles and become known as a scholar, leader, and person of value that added value to others.

After reading Mr. McCormick’s book, “I Got There”, and participating in a Zoom call where the students of Hills Academy had the opportunity to speak with Mr. McCormick, Jamal was inspired to do more for the school that provided an opportunity to “be great on purpose”.

In addition, he wanted to honor Bryan and Tiffany Hilburn for establishing Hills Academy which allowed “a safe place for them to become who they were meant to be."

The Rogers-Wyre Scholarship fund was established by Jamal and Jaydon Rogers. Their mother, Carol Wyre, has honored their request by matching their donation. Jamal, who provided the funding for this year’s scholardship, left on July 11, 2021, to fulfill his childhood dream of joining the Army. Before Jamal left for the military, the funds were dispensed amongst 9 students.

PVT Jamal H. Rogers died on Friday, August 20, 2021, during basic training. The scholarship fund has been renamed PVT Jamal H. Rogers Scholarship Fund in his honor. Jamal loved his school, Hills Academy and loved his tenure at Camp Westminister as an attendee and Servant Leader. This year’s scholarship fund will benefit both organizations. The funds will allow underserved male students to experience everything he loved and believed had a significant impact on his life.
